Art Journal Challenge Week 6 – ‘They Thought Blueprints Were Too Sad So They Made Them Yellow’

Welcome everyone to week six of my 52 week art journal challenge. This week I knew I wanted to use the colour yellow. A song lyric came to mind and I knew it would be the centre of my page. And that lyric is ‘They thought blueprints were too sad so they made them yellow’ from the song ‘Painters’ by Jewel. I love that darn song.

I also knew I wanted to try adding texture to this page. After gluing down my image I added the texture by scrunching up pieces of tissue paper and roughly gluing them down using Mod Podge. I then added a layer of texture gesso so I could use my gelatos, which I blended with a wet wipe. I love the effect of the tissue paper although I definitely would like to try a gel medium instead of the Mod Podge I have. As it’s ‘No Spend Feb’ I had to make do with it though, but being a gloss finish did not help.

I do like this page, but I think it needs a little something extra, so I might come back to it at a later date. What do you think?

Thanks so much for reading and watching everyone! I really do appreciate it. πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
