‘The Making Of A Card’ Festive Series #7 Elegant Poinsettia Card

This week’s card features the beautiful Poinsettia flower. Apparently, the shape of the poinsettia flower and leaves are sometimes thought of as a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem which led the Wise Men to Jesus, hence why we often see it everywhere around Christmas time.

Although very simple, I think it is quite an elegant card. Techniques used are simply some masking, repeat stamping, copic colouring using just 6 colours and a little bit of die cutting. I only have the one red copic marker so I used a warm grey to try and add some shading to the red leaves.

I added some foam squares under two of the flowers to give a raised effect and then finished it all off with a little bit of shimmer using the Wink Of Stella clear pen. An elegant card for an elegant friend this Christmas. πŸŽ„
