‘The Making Of A Card’ Festive Series #4 is a minimalistic card made in 5 easy steps.
If, like me, you don’t have a huge array of tools at your disposal, this card is a great. All you need is some cardstock, a frame die of your choice (optional), one distress ink with a blending tool, an acrylic block, a stamp, embossing ink and powder, a heat gun and double sided tape. If using a die you obviously need a die cut machine also, but otherwise just cut straight edges, and if your have any corner trimmers you could use those as well.
You can watch the whole process in the video above, but here are the five steps. Step 1: Cut two pieces of cardstock to size (the larger ‘frame’ size and a smaller one for the middle, using either a die set or a trimmer or scissors.
Step 2 : Using Distress Ink (or another blendable ink of your choice), and a blending tool, blend the ink to cover the largest piece of cardstock.
Step 3 : Using an embossing ink, stamp your desired image/sentiment on to the smaller piece of card.
Step 4 : Cover stamped images with embossing powder of choice, tap off excess and heat emboss using a heat gun.
Step 5: With an adhesive of your choice (I used double sided tape) attach the two pieces together and then attach to a blank card.
This card can be made in under 10 minutes. Quick and easy!
